THE NORTH GROUNDS
When you first arrive at Orchard View, you will get a taste of what the North Grounds offer: the Bridge, manicured lawns and our cutting garden. Look closer. See the varieties of herbs growing for our executive chef uses in his creations. It’s where we grow many of the flowers that brighten our tables. Cross the Bridge and you’ll discover our Gazebo, the dock, and a scenic walking path that hugs the Lake edge and brings you around to the Orchard on the South Grounds.
THE OLD BRIDGE
Our old wooden Bridge is a product of days gone by. Humbly constructed from enduring, natural materials, it suggests simplicity and craftsmanship—hallmarks of an era that has sadly past. Cross slowly. Stop in the middle in the afternoon when the shadows lengthen and savour the view of the Lake, the Orchard and the Island.
Cross the bridge over the Lake and join us for camaraderie in the Gazebo. This is one of our most popular wedding spots during the summer months, and when it’s not so used, it’s an ideal location for other ceremonies and celebrations: family reunions, wine and cheese evenings, simple outdoor meals.
The main focal point of the Orchard View grounds—apart from the Orchard, of course—is our great lake. Stocked with local fish, the Lake invites serenity. Walk its perimeter and experience its quiet beauty. Ride on our gondola in the summer—or skate in the winter—for an altogether different experience.
A four seasons site for outdoor activities at Orchard View. In the winter, join us for ice-carving, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sled rides and cross-country skiing around the grounds. In the warmer months, the lawn hosts games among friends: badminton, volleyball, croquet, lawn darts, horseshoes. Come play with us!
