What time would we get the hall?
The hall that you book will be available the day of your event at least 2 hours before your event. If there is nothing taking place before hand, you can come in that same day after 10am.

Is there free parking?
Yes, there is plenty of free parking available.

How much parking is available?
There are 175 spaces in the back parking lot, as well as parking in the circle (including handicap).

Do you know of any nearby hotels for out of town guests?
Yes, there are hotels in the area; Country View Manor B&B, Southway Inn, Old Virginia Manor, Stoneywood Bed & Breakfast, Adam’s Airport Inn, Days Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express & Monterey Inn. Please click on the directions link for exact locations

Is there a small room for the wedding party to dress, rest or freshen up?
Yes, there is 1 room available called the Suite, located on the upper level of the building (accessible by stairs only). This room can be booked for the entire day from the beginning of the event to the end.

How many guests can Orchard View accommodate?
We can accommodate up to 600 theatre/cocktail style and 400 banquet style seated guests in the Grandview room.

Does Orchard View have catering or do we have to bring our own?
Orchard View is a fully licensed facility & we can take care of all your food & beverage needs.

Can we provide our own food?
Orchard View is a fully licensed facility & we are responsible for all food & beverage that enters & exits Orchard View. Therefore, we cannot allow outside food (with the exception of wedding cake) unless Orchard View cannot provide the desired cuisine (ex: Kosher, Ethnic, etc.).

Can we bring in a wedding cake?
Yes, you can bring in your own wedding cake & Orchard View will serve your cake (additional fees may apply).

Can we bring in our own wine?
Homemade or LCBO: host provided wine can only be brought in for weddings. It may be used solely during the dinner portion of your function (OV bar must be closed at that time). A Corkage Fee for bringing in your own wine will apply. The Host must purchase a special occasions permit at any LCBO at least 2 weeks prior to function and the original must be on site during the function.

Can I have my ceremony there as well?
Yes, you can have your ceremony indoors or outdoors.

I don’t see anything I like in the menu. Do you have any other choices?
Yes, the menu is simply a list of suggestions based on our guests’ preferences in the past. Orchard View would be happy to create a custom menu based on your preferences.

I would like to incorporate traditional/cultural food in my menu. Can we?
Yes, we would love to incorporate your traditional/cultural cuisine. We can try to create your specialty from a family recipe, referral or bring in an Ethnic Chef to provide you with the exact menu you desire.

Is there a room rental fee?
Yes, there is a room rental fee. This fee is includes set-up tear-down, white linens skirted to the floor, tablecloths, linen napkins, tables, banquet chairs, Royal Doulton China & Silverware & glassware.

Is there a service/gratuity fee? If so, how much is it?
Yes, there is a service/gratuity fee. All facilities can charge a service fee. Our fee is 15%.

How soon should I book?
Depending on the flexibility of the date of choice, Orchard View would recommend that once you have chosen a facility you book your date of choice immediately. Saturdays in the summer & long weekends are usually booked 1.5 years in advance.

There are not enough Saturdays in the year for all the parties…Orchard View would recommend that you consider your event during the week Sunday to Friday. This may be a way of saving as other businesses may see the alternate days as an “off” day & therefore you may be entitled to discounts… Possibly, enough for your honeymoon!

How would I go about booking an event at Orchard View?
In order to book an event at Orchard View we would require a signed contract, and 25% or $1,000 (whichever is greater) of your total package.

How do the payments work for a social event/ wedding?
The standard payments are as follows: 25% or $1,000 (whichever is greater) of your total package within 14 days of booking with Orchard View. An additional 50% (bringing you to 75%) is due 2 weeks prior to your event & the final payment is due 1-2 days prior the event date. Any consumption (ex: additional guests, bar tab, etc..) will be billed following your event.

Can there be more than 1 party occurring at the same time of my event?
Orchard View has multiple facility rooms. These rooms have their own entrance, washroom & bar. If there is an event occurring at the same time Orchard View has taken all the precautions to ensure that the parties do not meet (parking lot & grounds excluded).

Is there a chair rental fee for the gazebo & hall?
There is no chair rental fee for the hall, but there is a minimal rental fee for more than 100 chairs in the gazebo (100 chairs are free)

If the hall is booked up, can I still have my ceremony there?
Yes, you can have your ceremony here. If there is time available in the gazebo, you are welcome to book a ceremony there, provided it is convenient for the other party(ies) that have booked prior.

Can there be more than 1 ceremony in the gazebo in 1 day?
Fortunately, Orchard View has taken precautions to ensure that if there is a ceremony & there is another party interested in having their ceremony at Orchard View as well, we will book the time sufficiently so that each party will have adequate time for their guests to arrive, have the ceremony & take pictures before another ceremony begins.

What kind of decorations do you provide?
All banquet rooms have an outdoor view and there is not much wall space to decorate. Therefore there is not too much décor necessary. You are welcome to decorate how you choose, provided that it does not damage any property. Absolutely no nails, thumbtacks, staples, wall/ceiling punctures, flower petals are permitted. Should any of the above mentioned items be used, there will be a minimum $500 damage fee added to your bill.

Can I have my own decorator?
You are welcome to add your special touch to any of the rooms (including gazebo) booked at Orchard View as long as it does not damage any of the property. (See contract for details)
Most guests at Orchard View choose to have centerpieces for the tables.

Do I have to pay for Servers?
The servers are included in the cost of the event. If you would like to add supplementary servers there is an additional fee per server.

Do I have to pay for bartenders?
There is no cost for a bartender, unless the bar sales are below $500. At that time, Orchard View would ask that you pay for the bartenders’ wages (minimum of 4 hours).

Are there Kid’s meals?
Yes, children’s’ meals are available for served menus only. You can choose ½ portion of the adult’s meal or a specific main course. For example: pizza, chicken fingers, pasta, hot dogs, etc…

What about guests with allergies?
Orchard View would be glad to provide your guests with specially designated meals. Diabetic, gluten-free, nut-free is typical and no problem.

Are there special meals for vegans/vegetarians?
Orchard View can easily accommodate vegan/vegetarian dishes. Most popular choices are tofu stir fry, sautéed vegetables on a bed of rice, vegetarian lasagna & pasta primavera.

Can I also book my shower, stag, and bachelor party at Orchard View?
Yes, we would be happy to accommodate you for any party (based on availability).

Who will I speak to regarding any questions that I have?
There is an assigned event coordinator to help you with all of your questions, preparation, meal planning, floor plans, etc… If they are not available any questions can be directed to the qualified office staff.

Who will I speak to on the day of my event?
Each event will have an assigned banquet manager. They are in charge of the entire evening. They are dressed in a suit & are available to anyone, specifically the event convenor (Master of ceremony, co-ordinator or bride & groom).
